AGS Volunteer Award Criteria
AGS Sister Pierre Vorster Award Qualifications: Actively involved in providing outstanding volunteer services
to individuals who are 65 or older; nominee must be 18 years or older; submission of application on candidate’s behalf
to the Selection & Scholarship committee. Sister Pierre Vorster Award will
be presented to selected individual along with a monetary contribution to the recipient’s favorite charity.
AGS Oldest Volunteer Qualifications: Actively involved in providing volunteer services to individuals who are 65
or older; nominee must be 75 years or older; submission of application on candidate’s behalf to the Selection &
Scholarship committee.
AGS Freshman
Volunteer Qualifications:
Actively involved in providing volunteer services to individuals who are 65 or older; nominee must be 18 years or under; submission
of application on candidate’s behalf to the Selection & Scholarship committee.
AGS Innovative Volunteer or Group Award Qualifications: Actively involved in providing volunteer services to individuals
who are 65 or older; nominee must be 18 years or older; individual or group must submit or demonstrate a unique or new service
to older persons; submission of application on candidate’s behalf to the Selection & Scholarship committee.
AGS Intergenerational Volunteer
or Group Qualifications:
Actively involved in providing volunteer services to individuals who exemplify interdependence of different generations (senior
nominees to youth / youth nominees to seniors); submission of application on candidate’s behalf to the Selection
and Scholarship committee.
AGS Outstanding
Volunteer Group Award Qualifications:
Actively involved in providing volunteer services to individuals who are 65 or older; includes all ages; submission
of application on candidate’s behalf to the Selection and Scholarship committee.
Award Selection Process: Upon approval of applications, the candidates will be reviewed by the
AGS Selection & Scholarship committee. The Selection & Scholarship committee will submit selected recipients to the
Arkansas Gerontological Society Board for final approval vote. The AGS Volunteer Awards will be presented to the selected
individuals/groups at the 2010 Aging Conference.
