AGS Volunteer Nominations

Nominate Your Favorite AGS Volunteer!

The contribution of volunteers to older Arkansans is phenomenal.  This is an opportunity to recognize that exceptional volunteer. There are six categories of eldercare volunteers.  Number of volunteer hours and significance of service to elderly people are determining factors in most categories.

Categories are:

  • Sister Pierre Vorster Award
  • Youngest Volunteer
  • Oldest Volunteer
  • Volunteer Group
  • Innovative Volunteer or Group
  • Intergenerational Volunteer or Group.

Please click here to download criteria for the 6 categories.

Please complete the nomination form found in link below.

Former recipients may not be nominated.  When completing the form, only hours of service provided in 2007 to older people should be reported in question 6; years of service in question 7. Supporting evidence of the nominee’s activities such as awards, newspaper articles, etc., will receive extra weight in judging. Do not send letters of endorsement.  Incomplete nominee forms will be excluded from consideration.

The recipients of the awards will be announced at the 28th Annual Arkansas Aging Conference during the awards luncheon on Thursday, October 29, 2008.

Deadline for submitting a nomination is September 15, 2008. Nominations may be faxed to Susan Kuehner at 501-227-7710 or mailed to Arkansas Gerontological Society, PO BOX 2371, Little Rock, Arkansas 72203-2371.
